Red Meat Month
One activity we do to promote
red meat is a demonstration by Karen Lackey to all eighth graders at our Middle School. Karen's program includes types of
red meat, cuts of meat,nutrition and cooking demonstrations.
We also promote red meat in conjunction with our local
grocery stores and livestock organizations. We start the month with running ads in our local paper. The Ads described that
consumers could receive $1.00 off coupons with red meat purchases at our local grocery stores at a
certain date and time
during the month. On thoses dates two Farm Bureau members were posted near the meat counter with red meat information sheets,
questions, and coupons customers could earn up to $3.00 off coupons. We gave away $250.00 worth of coupons.
